It's not a woman, it's a demon.
And yes, I know of it.
It murdered me about three months ago and used my blood to summon more demons.

I am under an obligation as what it did tied me to it forever.
Maglor killed it to avenge me.
Aside from that, it continues to roam Hadriel freely.

Revenge and justice are not the same thing, heavily intertwined though the two may be.

Can you tell me about this Maglor fellow? They must be rather powerful, to overcome such a foe.

Having so much time to perfect the art of war tends to be useful.

What would your solution to the demon be?

I'm just an artist, so I'm afraid my solutions are in scant supply. But there has to be a way to uphold justice, without perpetuating that same violence she commits.

The best way would be for the gods to lock her away, as they did with Delight. Barring that for she is likely far too great a food source for one such as Rage, they should strip her of her powers entirely. Granted, she would still have the ability to use conventional weapons, but it would at least even the field of battle.

Or perhaps she is also too great a resource for Fear, Sorrow, and Confusion, for them to make it so she'll leave others in peace... If the gods truly cared, they would have acted by now.

They are no gods. Just beings with powers above ours. And the only ones they truly care about are themselves.

Yes, that's very true. It hardly matters to them if we fight amongst ourselves, so long as we remain useful to them to exploit.

I wouldn't be surprised if the reason why they don't intervene when we fight, when we hurt one another, when we kill is because of the emotional benefit for them. Raw, unbridled emotion, there for the taking.

And yet it's not as though we can stop ourselves from feeling such emotions, when they are essential to being human.

What do you make of all this talk of the Door? I trust neither the Null nor the gods, so I cannot say I am eager to assist in this latest development.

Very true. I've gotten better at resisting the gods' manipulations, but it's taken months.

I trust neither of them as well. However, I'm in a bit of a tight spot. I've been invited to go to the world of a man who is no longer here and anything that would make the Door more stable would benefit me in that effort greatly.

I can understand how you feel that way. But, what if what is promised to us isn't really anything to help with the Door at all? Are you willing to take that risk for the sake of that man?
