This world does not want me. I doubt very much that it would let me back in. You're right that in some respects, this world is not so terrible, but the thing that makes it tolerable is the people I love -- my friends and my family.
[ He's trying too, but he doesn't succeed. He sighs, lowers his face, and lifts a sleeve to swiftly blot tears. But he misses a few, and they sparkle down his cheeks. ] I know that Sansa and you will both miss me greatly, as I will you.
[ He gazes at her for a moment. ] Let me come to you. I cannot bear to say goodbye, but it is even worse to say goodbye through this impersonal glass screen.
Then this world is wrong. And your friends are here. We will miss you terribly!
[she loses the battle of holding back tears when she sees that he is crying. tears stream down her cheeks and she makes only a token effort at dashing them away] We will. Both of us, we've had much taken away. Family, friends. And now this.
[she's trying to get the tears under control] I'm home. Come here.
There is a wrongness embedded deep in the fabric of this world. I felt it almost as soon as I arrived, but I was able to ignore it because my son and my eldest brother were here, and then, not so many months later, Maglor arrived. And yes, I have friends here, and I will miss you all, as terribly as you will miss me.
[ He cannot bear her tears. ] We have lost much, it is true. And I am coming, give me ten minutes!
[ He takes the old route home, up the river, past Delight's temple, across the fields and the looping roads and finally to the two spirals of Delight's Housing. He runs down the circular walkway to #08, Margaery's house, and taps on the door. ]
Margaery, it's me! [ When she opens the door, she'll see the urgent love and sorrow in his dark eyes. ]
This world is wrong. The way the so-called gods manipulate us is beyond the pale. Though--it has good people. People who will miss you terribly. You must know that.
[and she hates crying] I shall! Please hurry.
[and she waits and worries a handkerchief in her hands. it's damp from tears.
when she hears his voice, she runs to the door, flinging it open, and immediately embraces him]
I agree, this world is wrong in its very nature. It has been created for manipulation, not for any positive purpose. The presence of good people is what makes it tolerable at all. I will never forget their kindness, especially yours.
[ When he gets to Margaery's house and the door is flung open for him, he opens his arms to catch her up in them as she embraces him. ]
Oh, Margaery! If only things were different! But dear friend, we have a little time to say goodbye. That is not enough, but it is something. [ The warmth in his eyes is in his embrace as well. ]
And we are all left to suffer its ill intents. Except you, you have found a way out. [a hiccupping laugh] I suppose I should be glad for you? And I will never, ever forget you or your kindness.
[she squeezes him tight and fights back a fresh wave of tears]
If only! And--and, yes. At least we have a little while to say our goodbyes. I do not hope to meet you again on Earth and I doubt I'd be able to visit your home first.
I have suffered enough of its ill intents to last me for eternity. But it is not me I am worried about right now, it's you and those who remain.
[ He squeezes her equally tight and kisses her forehead. ]
We really don't know, though. Who knows, we might meet again? I am not at all certain that this parting will cut off all possibility of that. If my departure works as planned, I will be able to journey the worlds at my will. And I wonder. . . well, I don't know, but you and I have a rapport that might last beyond the barriers of time and space. What if someday I can reach out a hand to you and bring you with me? Would you come?
I can't be sure that any world will be any better. But now I am aware that I have some ability to pick and choose. If a world looks like it has any of the same bad characteristics as this one does, I won't stay. I'll find another, better one.
[ He leans his head against her hair and tries to surround her with his love and care. ]
Then all will be well. [ He smiles. ] I will send you a summons or I will come and get you. If I hover in the Void, I should be able to get close enough to make this work.
It is I who should be thanking you. You have meant so much to me! I would not want to be without you.
[ Even with the trust that they will see one another again, he cannot bear to let her go. Just a few minutes more, he thinks to himself, but the moments go by and still he holds on. ]
/kisses your tears away

/snugs!
[she fights back a fresh wave of tears]
...yes. Yes, I would. I have had my fill of this place and its so-called gods.
/nestles!
[ He leans his head against her hair and tries to surround her with his love and care. ]
Then all will be well. [ He smiles. ] I will send you a summons or I will come and get you. If I hover in the Void, I should be able to get close enough to make this work.
/cuddles
[she clutches at his shoulders with her hands]
That would be lovely. To be free of this place and its so-called gods. . . it would be wonderful.
/huggles
[ He looks down into her eyes, and his are very tender. ]
For you, I want whatever would make you happiest. If you want freedom, then I want it for you.
/snuggles into it
[and hers are wide with emotion]
...what would make me happiest? Is my freedom from this place. There are people I would miss, but I would be rid of the so-called gods if I could.
/never lets you go!
[ His eyes, too, are emotional. How hard it is to let go of those we love, even if it is only for a time! ]
/clings!
[it's terribly hard. she's never been good at goodbyes]
/smooshes you
[ And neither has Curufin. So, they're both terrible at goodbyes! ]
/smooshes back
[goodbyes are terrible and she hates them]
/smooshes you twice as much!
[ Goodbyes are dreadful! ]
/thrice as much!
[they are, so she'll not say it. she'll trust that she will see him again]
/fours times as much! XD
[ He simply wraps his arms around her more tightly. He does not want to let her go. ]
/five times!
[that's good, because she doesn't want to let go or be let go]
/we are so smooshed that we are turned into a couple of smoothies
[ Even with the trust that they will see one another again, he cannot bear to let her go. Just a few minutes more, he thinks to himself, but the moments go by and still he holds on. ]
mmm, smoothies
[she hates the thought of being without her friend]
