I have suffered enough of its ill intents to last me for eternity. But it is not me I am worried about right now, it's you and those who remain.
[ He squeezes her equally tight and kisses her forehead. ]
We really don't know, though. Who knows, we might meet again? I am not at all certain that this parting will cut off all possibility of that. If my departure works as planned, I will be able to journey the worlds at my will. And I wonder. . . well, I don't know, but you and I have a rapport that might last beyond the barriers of time and space. What if someday I can reach out a hand to you and bring you with me? Would you come?
I can't be sure that any world will be any better. But now I am aware that I have some ability to pick and choose. If a world looks like it has any of the same bad characteristics as this one does, I won't stay. I'll find another, better one.
[ He leans his head against her hair and tries to surround her with his love and care. ]
Then all will be well. [ He smiles. ] I will send you a summons or I will come and get you. If I hover in the Void, I should be able to get close enough to make this work.
[The elf who appears at her door a few minutes later is grim and quiet, with his long hair hanging unbraided over his shoulders.
He greets her with a deep nod.]
Would that I were here under better circumstances. Is there a place you would prefer for us to sit down?
[Fingon knows how attached to her Maglor had become- he's not sure there's a way to break this news easily, but for her own sake and for his cousin's he will try.]
her apprehension grows in response to his words, but she does her best to keep her courtesies intact]
Perhaps the sofa? [she gestures towards it and waits for him to sit before she does.
and she, too, has become very attached to Maglor. she could tell him anything without fear of judgment and they could spend hours talking about weighty things or nothing at all and simply enjoy the time in each other's presence.
in truth, she'd fallen in love with him, though she knew that such an . . . overture would be met with disappointment. so she cradled her feelings close to her heart and spoke not a word]
It is I who should be thanking you. You have meant so much to me! I would not want to be without you.
[ Even with the trust that they will see one another again, he cannot bear to let her go. Just a few minutes more, he thinks to himself, but the moments go by and still he holds on. ]
[When they are settled Fingon looks at Margaery for a moment, wondering how best to begin. He has delivered ill-news before to the friends and family of his men, but it has never become easier.]
My cousin Maglor has vanished, my lady. There is no trace of him in the city.
[ Wash enters the sewing shop the day after arrivals, with a large bag over his shoulder. He looks vaguely troubled, but that expression fades away behind a smile for Margaery when he spots her behind her table. ]
Hey Marg. I've got another job for you... I know I can't pay right now, but as soon as the gods get back?
[ Wash sets the bag down and reaches a hand out for hers to greet her properly -- there are only a handful of people he'll greet with a touch and Marg is on the list, even if he's still kind of awkward about it. ]
A friend of mine from home showed up and he's...... a big guy. He's huge, really, there's not much that'll fit him in the shops so we were hoping you could alter some clothes using other clothes? We grabbed extra for materials. Make the sleeves and pant legs longer, that kind of thing.

/snugs!
[she fights back a fresh wave of tears]
...yes. Yes, I would. I have had my fill of this place and its so-called gods.
/nestles!
[ He leans his head against her hair and tries to surround her with his love and care. ]
Then all will be well. [ He smiles. ] I will send you a summons or I will come and get you. If I hover in the Void, I should be able to get close enough to make this work.
/cuddles
[she clutches at his shoulders with her hands]
That would be lovely. To be free of this place and its so-called gods. . . it would be wonderful.
Voice
[There’s something just slightly off about Fingon’s voice- something too clipped, as though he’s tightly restraining part of himself.]
Are you free at the moment? There is- [His voice catches slightly] I have news for you, and it is the kind better said in person.
Voice
...I am. I'm at the house I share. Please feel free to come.
/huggles
[ He looks down into her eyes, and his are very tender. ]
For you, I want whatever would make you happiest. If you want freedom, then I want it for you.
/snuggles into it
[and hers are wide with emotion]
...what would make me happiest? Is my freedom from this place. There are people I would miss, but I would be rid of the so-called gods if I could.

/never lets you go!
[ His eyes, too, are emotional. How hard it is to let go of those we love, even if it is only for a time! ]

/clings!
[it's terribly hard. she's never been good at goodbyes]
/smooshes you
[ And neither has Curufin. So, they're both terrible at goodbyes! ]
/smooshes back
[goodbyes are terrible and she hates them]
/smooshes you twice as much!
[ Goodbyes are dreadful! ]
/thrice as much!
[they are, so she'll not say it. she'll trust that she will see him again]
/fours times as much! XD
[ He simply wraps his arms around her more tightly. He does not want to let her go. ]
/five times!
[that's good, because she doesn't want to let go or be let go]
/we are so smooshed that we are turned into a couple of smoothies

[His head droops just a bit.]
I am sorry. I know he cared for you greatly.
Voice
she looks back, fearing that her apprehension is writ plain on her face.
when she hears what he says, she shoots up off of the sofa and starts to pace back and forth like a caged animal]
--what? No. No. It can't be. He must be somewhere.
[she pulls out her phone and searches through the contacts, looking for Maglor's name. when she doesn't find it, she tries again as she paces]
And I. . . and I for him. But, [her voice turns pleading] surely there must be a mistake somewhere. He can't be gone. He can't.
action; 12/11
Hey Marg. I've got another job for you... I know I can't pay right now, but as soon as the gods get back?
no subject
Certainly! At least, I can try? What sort of job did you have in mind?
mmm, smoothies
[she hates the thought of being without her friend]
no subject
